A Community Project Years In The Making, Come Celebrate Our Entry Into Palm Beach County!

Our sincere thanks to Dr. Heidi Shaeffer for the initial funding to open FLITE Center West Palm Beach, allowing us to focus on youth ages 10-24 who are at risk of, or have been human trafficked. Dr. Schaeffer is a nationally recognized human trafficking awareness and intervention expert and clinical affiliate assistant professor at the Florida Atlantic University Schmidt College of Medicine and an advisory board member of the Nova Southeastern University College of Health Care Sciences. She has educated emergency department staff and thousands of students and faculty throughout South Florida about human trafficking, collaborated with human trafficking task forces, and served on the executive boards of many human trafficking coalitions including Broward Human Trafficking Coalition and Human Trafficking Coalition of the Palm Beaches. In addition, she has been instrumental in developing and helping to pass victim-focused legislation at local, state, and federal levels and has twice been invited to speak before U.S. Congress members in Washington, D.C..

Programming is supported by a grant from Voices for Florida's Open Doors Outreach Network, the state’s leading trauma-informed 24/7 network for helping sex trafficked children and young adults. Victims are supported by a team of professionals, including Survivor-Mentors, Regional Advocates, Clinicians, and Victim Services Coordinators that work together to provide emergency stabilization, individualized wellness plans, ongoing support and more to help victims heal.

FLITE Center WPB will also provide the following services virtually: Education (GED), Employment workshops, and Health and Wellness workshops.
