In Palm Beach County and across Florida, thousands of vulnerable youth face the daunting journey into adulthood alone after enduring trauma, abandonment, and hardship most cannot fathom. For young people aging out of foster care, survivors of human trafficking, and those falling through the cracks, FLITE Center is a beacon of hope - a comprehensive one stop haven providing the resources and supportive services they need to survive and thrive.
FLITE Center (Fort Lauderdale Independence, Training and Education Center) was created in 2009 through a partnership of the Community Foundation of Broward, the United Way of Broward and the Junior League of Greater Fort Lauderdale, with the intent of offering comprehensive access to services for 18 - 25-year-old youth aging out of foster care, human trafficking survivors aged 10 - 24 and other vulnerable youth. Today, FLITE Center is a nurturing safe haven where transitioning youth who have faced trauma, find the resources to build successful adult lives. As a true one-stop resource hub, FLITE reduces barriers by delivering all supportive services under one roof. There are far too many vulnerable young people, homeless teens, those burned by the system, and those struggling against all odds to simply to survive. FLITE Center is their emergency room, wrapping vital services around these unseen, unheard youth populations.
With comprehensive, seamless support, FLITE guides nearly 2,000 youth annually through life's maze. FLITE connects them to employment, education, health services, counseling, and safe, affordable housing. The need is staggering, and FLITE's response is expanding services in Palm Beach County offering emergency housing for human trafficking survivors, as well as a widening service area into Central Florida and grow access to health and wellness services in Broward. This lifesaving work takes tremendous resources and community support.

Led by Reverend Martin and his wife Donna, this act of boundless compassion ignited a movement, proving with passion & commitment, the battle for America’s most vulnerable can be won!
